SALMAN AND AKSHAY ROCK UK CHARTS!
The Salman Khan – Akshay Kumar combination has lured the British Asian audience in cinemas this week. Their first movie together ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’ managed to collect an impressive £183,473 at the British box office during its opening run. The David Dhawan comedy, which also stars Priyanka Chopra, debuted in the national UK charts at number eight. Its collections were higher that Hollywood comedy New York Minute, which released on the same day but only debuted at number ten in the charts.

AAMIR GIVES AISHWARYA COLD VIBES
Following their rather public fall-out over the forthcoming movie The Rising, it seems Aamir Khan and Aishwarya Rai recently crossed paths at a function. However according to the Indian tabloids, Aishwarya’s attempts to make amends were swiftly ignored. Apparently Aamir gave her the cold shoulder!

ANUPAM FURIOUS OVER SLEAZY RUMOURS!
Bollywood veteran Anupam Kher is furious following rumours of his steamy onscreen kiss with Mahima Choudhary in the forthcoming movie Chess. Although the sleazy rumours have given the low-budget English film lots of free publicity, Anupam has quickly decided to clarify the situation. “The film is about an older man with a young wife. I am paired opposite Mahima but there aren’t any such kissing scenes. These stories are baseless titillation for the tabloids,” he explains.

ADITI GOWITRIKAR PROMOTES HEALTHY SEX LIFE!
Former beauty queen Aditi Gowitrikar is promoting a healthy sex life through yoga in a new home exercise video. “Sex is an important part of our well being and vital for marital bliss. Many marriages disintegrate because the partners are not sexually compatible. I have found pleasure both as wife and as mother and now want to share the secret with others. Yoga not only enhances sexual appetite, but also helps maintain the desire for long," she confidently states despite the rather taboo subject. KAREENA’S MASSIVE SIGNING FEE FOR NEW FILM
Despite a long series of box office failures, it seems demand for Kareena Kapoor is wavering. Indian filmmaker Harry Baweja has signed the popular actress for a jaw-dropping amount. Although the exact figure is being kept a secret, the rather generous rumours suggest something in the region of RS 2.50 crore! The forthcoming science-fiction film will mark the debut of Harry Baweja’s son Harman, who is making his debut opposite Kareena. “I am honoured and obliged if they feel I deserve such a price. I don’t want to disclose the exact amount but it’s definitely a big amount. The fact that it is a science fiction film excited me and I think Harman is a very talented guy. It would great to work with him. He is young and ours would be a fresh pairing,” commented a rather excited.

Ajay Devgan , Dinesh Patel Back Together ?
After launching Ajay Devgan with a superhit ´Phool Kaante´ and following it up with an average ´Divyashakti´, it looks like producer Dinesh Patel and Ajay Devgan are back together for a film to be launched shortly. According to the buzz , the movie will be scripted and directed by Anees Bazmi and will also feature Priyanka Chopra and Bhumika Chawla. Some sources refer to the movie as ´Benaam´ but the title could not be verified.

As we know "Sahib Biwi Gulam" stars the recently married Raveena Tandon(Thadani).

Priyadarshan´s ´Hulchul´ A Comedy About Family Feud ?
Noted screenplay and dialogue writer K.P. Saxena has wriiten the dialogues for Priyadarshan´s forthcomong film ´Hulchal´ where Kareena is paired with Akshay Khanna .The film showcases two families engaged in a feud for generations . A boy from one family falls in love with a girl from the other family and they pledge to unite the two families . An interesting thing about the film is that Saxena wrote the entire dialogues in ten days flat.The shooting of ´Hulchal´ has already started and if everything goes as per schedule , it may be complete by June end and will be Priyadarsha´s next Hindi release after ´Hungama´ .

´Sheen´ At The Human Rights Conference In Geneva ?
Even before its release , ´Sheen´ , the first ever Hindi commercial movie on the plight of Kashmiri Pandits , has caught the attention of the United Nations .Impressed by the much publicised subject of ´Sheen´ , the United Nations will screen the film at its Human Rights Conference at Geneva on April 8 .´Sheen´ which talks about the victims of terrorism and human rights violation , will be released on April 16 .

Finally , John Dubs In His Own Voice For ´Lakeer´ !
John was dying to do his own dubbing and is finally getting to do so in Ahmad Khan´s ´Lakeer´ which opens this month .According to John , " There is this prevalent fallacy that I am from Bangalore when in fact I am a full fledged Mumbaikar . I am a regular ´daal chawal´ guy and there is absolutely no problem with my Hindi ."Interestingly Dino Morea faces exactly the same dilemma . Producer-director-composer, Vishal Bharadwaj , who has become the prince of parallel cinema after ´Makdee´and ´Maqbool´, has bought the rights of Ruskin Bond´s ´The Blue Umbrella´.For those who are interested Ruskin Bond´s book , ´The Blue Umbrella´ has also been shortlisted for script analysis by the British Film Council and Vishal intends to co-produce the film based on the book , if things work out .

Ramu To Release Same Film With Two Titles & Options
Trust Ramgopal Varma to do the unthinkable . He is going in for another ´first´ in Bollywood . His under-production ´Murder At Shri Krishna Building´ or ´Murder At Two´ (as some say) will be released with two different working titles/options (for the audience) namely ´Janboojhkar´ and ´Ghalti Se´ in June or July 2004.In the first version , Anil Kapoor murders his wife by mistake and in the second , the murder is intentional but surprisingly the ending remains the same in the G.G. Philip directed movie .The approximately 135 minutes movie will have only 20 minutes of sequences , which will be different from each and the second version where the murder is intentional will be picturised shortly.

Will ´Swades´ Be Preponed ?
We recently had the privelage of listening to K.P. Saxena, the dialogue writer of ´Swades´ and he had something interesting to say about the release date of 'Swades', which has been publicised as 15th August, along with Subhash Ghai´s 'Kisna'.According to Mr. Saxena 'Swades' may come earlier than expected that is in July.Now one cannot say how right he is but being associated with the movie means he knows more than any of us !

Why Shah Rukh´s Home production Went To T-Series
We recently had the opportunity, in Noida , of listening to T-Series supremo Bhooshan Kumar personally and he had something interesting to say about why all of a sudden, Shah Rukh Khan left his regular audio label Sony and went for T-Series for his home production .According to Bhooshan, "Shah Rukh Khan was unhappy with Sony Music after Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani and Asoka as they were not publicised as well as some of the Karan Johar movies and so T-Series came on the scene and it worked well for us in Chalte Chalte and Main Hoon Na ."

Saif: The guitar guy
Few know that Saif loved to play guitar. He had this loverboy image of himself and believed that a guy who played the guitar could easily woo girls. "So most of the time I was with a guitar in my hand. Even today I play it when I'm at home and having nothing better to do," he said. But currently he is as busy as a bee, what with compliments pouring in from every nook and corner for his wonderful performance in Karan Johar's Kal Ho Naa Ho. "I'm happy that people loved my role in the film. I give the credit for this to Nikhil and Karan's story. I wish I could work with them again," he said.

Mallika: Phuket horror
Mallika Sherawat who was shooting in Bangkok's Phuket had a tough time dealing with tourists there. If you thought that she got mobbed then you are wrong, her face still does not register easily even though Khawaish was a hit! Then what on earth happened? Well everybody thought Mallika was a prostitute and they asked her for a night. "I didn't know what to do? How do I convince them that I was not a prostitute and was there to do my work? I got tired of it all," says the poor Sherawat. Phuket is known for its prostitution so we don't blame the tourists, Mallika!

Shah Rukh to be 'booked'
Author Anupama Chopra who won the National Award for the best book Sholay-The Making is to pen down Shahrukh Khan's biography. The news is of course, under wraps. According to reports Shah Rukh Khan himself will be actively involved in the biography so that the reading becomes more exciting. When questioned about it, Anupama said that she did not want to disclose anything. "It is just an idea that has excited me. I can't say anything as I haven't begun writing," she said.

Govinda upto Seva
Well, we had just reported how Govinda completed the shooting of Sukh in 27-days flat and will soon begin the post-production work of the film. But even before Sukh hits the theatres, the actor turned producer turned scriptwriter will soon launch his second film called Seva. Ask him about Seva and Govinda isn't ready to divulge anything about the subject except that this is one more script that he has written. He also clarifies that, "Sukh is no way similar to Aankhen. The story is different. It is after a long time that I'm working with Chunky Pandey and Kirti Kumar. Both have been lucky for me. Both have given me Sukh," he laughs.

Bollywood to be Van Dammed?
Nairobi based producers Uru Patel along with Asad Sikander are soon to launch their action packed magnum opus that will feature none other than Hollywood star Jean Claude Van Damne in the lead. The actor is expected to come to Mumbai next month to hear the script of the film that will also star Indian debutants Aseem Merchant and Fun2shhh famed Iqbal Khan. The female will also feature Miss Bulgaria Natalia Kurgova in the lead. Confirming the news, Iqbal Khan said that this was one of the films that he was looking forward to. "I'm glad to be a part of an international film that is going to boast of exclusive action sequences. We are going to shoot the film in Bulgaria," he said. Aseem Merchant said, "Van Damme will be coming to Mumbai to know more about the script. I'm waiting to begin shooting for the film."

Don't know what is perturbing her but Raveena Tandon seems to be in a grouchy mood nowadays? On the sets of Doobara where Tandon was shooting, a journalist asked how her marriage preparations were going on and Tandon immediately snapped at him saying, "Preparations of my marriage are just like any other marriage. How does it concern the media? I'm not even interested in giving details about it!" Whew! If this is her state of mind before marriage one wonders what will happen after it!

Shah Rukh Khan may be shooting every single day , to catch up on the time he lost during his back surgery and post-surgery days , but the actor is still not completely fit. Hrithik Not To Start Any New Film Till June 2004 ?
Hrithik Roshan will take a 2-month break from studios once Farhan Akhtar´s , Lakshya is complete . Lakshya , is the only under-production film of Hrithik and should be over by December end .Soon after that , the Koi... Boom postponed again ?
There are speculations about the release plans of Boom . So often have release dates been announced by the film´s producers , and then cancelled that exhibitors are not sure whether they should now beleive the release date to be true .Boom was last scehduled to hit the screens on 22nd August but as in the past , the film has been postponed this time too.The likely date of release now is 5th September . Its definate- as definate as it always has been.

Anurag Kashyap is said to have penned the script. Also, it was known that the movie is supposed to star his close friend Abhishek Bachchan in the lead role. Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan Exempted From Court Appearance
Actors Sanjay Dutt has been exhempted from personal appearance in the court until the 2nd of December. Certain conditions are attached by the special court. The court has instructed Sanjay Dutt not to establish any contact with the absconding criminals (in the bomb blast case) and not to try and influence the witnesses. It may be recalled that Sanjay Dutt had been permitted by the court to go abroad on 28th October for the for the promotion of his movie Kaante. Salman Khan out on bail in the recent accident case has also been exhempted from personal appearance by another court. The matter will be sent to a session´s court on 19th January.

Dutta is fuming , " I cannot believe that there is anarchy even in entertainment buisiness."This is not the first time that a big chunk of a film has been chopped off in Bihar , Bhansali´s , Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam , and Devdas and Ashutosh Gowarikar´s Lagaan , are some other films that were trimmed and to top it all the ending of Sunny Deol´s , Pyaar Koi Khel Nahin , was altered by the Bihar distributor , claiming that the director did not know his job !

There are talks of Ram Gopal Varma planning to start another movie , ´Shanti Kutir´ , starring Sushmita Sen and Arjun Rampal .
