30 kms to the south from Pune is a beautiful place called Baneshwar. It has an old temple of Lord Shiva which was built by Bajirao Peshwa-1. The idols of  Lord Vishnu, Goddess Laxmi and Lord Mahadev in the temple are beautiful.

     As the temple is in dense woods and it seems like a Jungle, hence called 'Baneshwar'.  There are five Shivlings.

     It is also a famous picnic spot. There is a beautiful garden, a small water fall, hence a stream of water all these make up Baneshwar a nice picnic spot.
