12 kms away from Pune is a beach like spot which is
of military
importance because of the
National Defense Academy (NDA).
Khadakwasala Panshet and
Varasgaon are the Dams that provide water to Pune. These have now turned
out to be picnic spots. Sinhagad and Peacock Bay are also attractions of
Khadakwasala. Boating can also be enjoyed here.
In 1961 when Panshet dam collapsed entire Pune city was gabbed by water. Panshet and Varasgaon dams are Popular because of Speed Boats and Water Scooters and other Water Sports. Way to Panshet is through dark green woods. |
