of the family business he had to give up his practice to join the family
business in the year 1994 as Managing Director . The firm is well known in
the Silver, Gold, Diamond market as " Ranka Jewelers Pvt. Ltd.". The
Family is in this business of Gold and Silver since 100 years.
He did his schooling from Nutan Marathi
Vidhyalay, Pune, and completed college from Ferguson College (B.A) and I.L.S.

Family
Background :
The Grandfather of Mr.Fatechand Mr. Nagarajji Ranka came to
Pune before 125 years and he started working on salary of Rs 2/- per
month. He started his business in the year 1908. After separation he opened his first shop
at Raviwar Peth in the year 1968 which was Pune's first Air Conditioned
showroom. Second shop on Laxmi road in the year 1992 and the third shop is
on Karve Road which was started in the year 1998. Presently the showroom
at Laxmi Road is being renovated . 11,000 Sq ft area with four floors is
going to be the biggest showroom in India.
- He works 18-20 hours every day.
- His family consists of 2 married daughters
and
2 sons (Graduate).

Work Done :
- Made drinking water facility available at Railway Station.
- Conducted various conference in rural area and educates Goldsmith and
sarafs.
- Every year adopts 20 students and
takes care of all their expenses.
- Adopted 25 children of dacoits from
rural areas& looked after their educational expenses
lifelong. This was done in association with Mr. Madhav Sanap , S.P.Rural.
Advocate :
- Tried to protect penal laws,
successfully fought against and gave relief to traders in police
harassment, sales tax and gold central act.
- In the history of Saraf Association
there was a case of a goldsmith from Barshi who died under police custody, in
this case he fought for the suspension of the five police officers
who were in charge and also pursued the
Govt. for Rs 1 lakh as compensation to be paid to the family of the
deceased person.
- He also had an agitation against the
police. Arranged for a rally of 20,000 dealers & declared hunger strike.
Finally he succeeded & the family of the deceased got monetary help from
Govt. of Maharashtra. Rs.75,000 was donated to the same cause by The
Maharashtra Saraf Mahamandal.
