It is the story of Mumbai Police Officers, Arjun Ranawat (Salman Khan), Samar Singh (Amrish Puri) and Hyder Ali (Arbaaz Khan). Cast: Salman Khan as Arjun Ranawat: He is seen in the role of an honest police someone who is prepared to sacrifice everything to protect the law. He is a guy who is angry, gentle, soft, cool, hard, merciful, ruthless, correct, honest, and very lovable. But when its comes to love, he is shy. He is in loves his girl, and cannot tell her. He can shoot a person when the time comes to telling a person that he loves her, he cannot do that. He will sit back and look at her, smile at her, give her attitude and walk out of there. In short, he plays the character of someone who fights against wrong. Arbaaz Khan as Hyder Ali. He plays an upright righteous police officer. He is very definite about what he wants to achieve and will give his life for his country and his department. Arbaz Khan plays a Muslim cop who is asked to continuously prove his loyalty. Shilpa Shetty as Jannat: She plays a role of a Muslim hotel dancer. She is in love with a police cop. She is willing to do anything as well as give up anything for him. |
| Music: Love song 'Hum Tumko Nigahon Mein' marks the opening of the album that is sung by Udit Narayan and Shreya Ghosha. 'Dum Mast Mast', a Sufi track. Both Sukhwinder Singh and Sunidhi Chauhan sing at the peak of their vocals in this track that has both the lead actors, especially Shilpa Shetty displaying a holds-no-bar attitude. A high voltage track. Bhangra track 'Soniye' which is again sung by Sukhwinder Singh, who is this time supported by Shreya Ghoshal. Anu Malik rehashes his own 'Yeh Raat' from 'Aks' and presents it as 'Marhaba'. Song in picture is 'Khaaya Piya' that goes with the Hindi adage 'Khaaya Piya Kuch Bhi Nahi, Saala Gillaass Toda Barah Anna'. Composed on the lines of Marathi folk numbers to woo the local audience. Sunidhi Chauhan sings her fourth song, another item number in the movie, 'Saiyan More Saiyan'. Well, all said and done, at least this number 'Tera Hi Deewana Dil' is foot tapping. |
Why should you watch the film? Garv is the film about justice against corruption. This film will be refreshing in terms of the chemistry between Salman Khan and his brother Arbaaz. Seen earlier tickling the funny bone, this film will showcase the brothers playing best friends. This film has lots of cool action sequences. The music by Sajid - Wajid and Anu Malik seems to be doing well and a must look is the item number by model Reshma Bombaywalla. 'Garv' has all the supplies of ingredient need to make a perfect masala (spicy) film. |
On the whole: At the box-office, the film should fare better at single screens, not at multiplexes. The terrific start will only ensure a fast recovery for its distributors and lack of a major opposition for the next two weeks should help. |
