Trail Shows Galore For The 32 crore Koi... Mil Gaya
Rakesh Roshan is holding open trial shows of his Koi...Mil Gaya . There has been at least one preview show everyday since the first trial of the sci-fi venture was held almost 10 days back.Most of the stars including Amitabh Bachchan , Jeetendra , Amir Khan , Anil Kapoor , Kareena Kapoor , Tusshar , Eesha Deol ,Sanjay Kapoor besides producers and directors like Raj Kumar Santoshi , Karan Joher ,Farhan Akhtar and Sujit Kumar have seen and loved the film .In particular , there is a lot of praise for Hrithiks performance in the first half , in which he plays a mentally retarded boy .Despite the encouraging reports , the Roshan´s will not have a star studded premiere show of the film because Rakesh Roshan had come to the conclusion years ago that it was not worthwile to hold premiere shows.Incidently , the film , according to Rakesh Roshan , has cost him Rs. 32 crore to make .He is releasing the movie in Bombay , Delhi-U.P. , Bihar , Andhra and overseas

Pooja Bhatt Marries Ex VJ Muneer Makhija In Goa
Actress and now director Pooja Bhatt has married channel V former VJ ´Udham Singh´ or Muneer Makhija at a Shiv mandir , in Goa.Confirming the news her father , director Mahesh Bhatt said that Pooja had already told him about her decision via SMS and he had no problems with her marriage.While on Muneer , he became hugely popular as a jat character ´Udham Singh´ on channel V and presently runs a restaurant in New Delhi.

Manisha In Rituparna´s Anil , Kareena Venture ´Kaaya´ ?
Rituparna Ghosh´s Anil Kapoor , Kareena starrer has been tentatively titled ´Kaaya´ and now Manisha Koirala has also been added to the cast .While on the same project , Anil´s role was first conceived with South superstar Mamooty in mind but his lack of Hindi was a drawback and hence Devgan was the next to be offered the same role . Once again Ajay refused the role as he was required to put on some weight and finally Anil Kapoor walked in. According to Mr. Ghosh the shooting of Kaaya will commence from January 2004.

Ajay Devgan Has A Full Fledged Role In Zameen
Rumours were rife last week , specially in the trade circles that Ajay Devgan plays only a guest appearance in Zameen .The fact of the matter is that the stories are untrue and unfounded because both Devgan and Abhishek have full fledged roles in the movie , scheduled to release on 26th September , all over.

Did Neetu Singh Turn Down ´Kal Ho Na Ho´?
Film makers are constantly on the lookout for new faces, not just for leading roles but for character roles too. The current favourite seems to be Neetu Singh who retired soon after marriage 25 years ago.Rishi Kapoor´s gorgeous wife is being approached by several producers and directors to act in their films, but the lady has been politely turning down the offers .She was reportedly Karan Johar´s first choice for an important role in his under-production ´Kal Ho Na Ho´. Unwilling to bite the the bait, Neetu said "no" to Johar as she did to several other offers made to her. Ultimately, the "Kal Ho Na Ho" role went to Jaya Bachchan. But how long will Neetu be able to resist the tempting offers?

The recording of the background music was completed on 20th August and mixing started on 25th at Gaurav Digital , under the supervision of Hitendra Ghosh.The film is produced by R.G. Nayyar , presented by L.B. Nayyar and directed by Birendra Nath Tiwari and has music by Nikhil Vinay and lyrics by Rani Malik , Yogesh Chander and S.R. BharatiYeh Lamhe Judaai Ke , stars Shah Rukh Khan , Raveena Tandon , Mohnish Bahl , Deepak Parasher , Avtar Gill , Navneet Nishan ,Kiran Kumar and new finds Amit Kumar and Divya Desai.

Zameen , On location Shooting In Latur
Producer N.R. Pachisia is in Latur for a 10 day on location shooting schedule of V.R. Entertainers Zameer.All the artists incliding Ajay Devgan , Abhishek Bachchan and Bipasha Basu , will participate . The movie will be complete after the Latur schedule and is being directed by Rohit Shetty , and has dialogues by Javed Siddiqui, cinematogrpahy by Aseem Bajaj ,music by Himesh ,lyrics by Sameer , art by Amit Mishra action by Nagi Somendra and action by Jai Singh. Zameen´s story is by Suparn Verma . Latur in Maharashtra , as we may recall , had faced one of the worse earthquake on 30th September 1993 .

Arbaaz To Make Television Debut With Karishma´s Serial ?
Sahara channel seems to be roping in the whole film industry .The latest actor to join the bandwagon is Arbaaz Khan who will make his debut on the small screen by playing a guest role in Sahara´s TV serial ´Karishma -The Miracle of Destiny´.Arbaaz will also be the lead actor in UTV´s serial , Sarfarosh.

NDTV anchor Naghma Screen Tested For Shahrukh´s "Swades"?
Seems like director Ashutosh Gowariker is once again going in for another unusual casting after taking the then serial star Gracy Singh in Lagaan. We have just heard that NDTV anchor Naghma has been screen tested for his next venture after Lagaan titled Swades. As we all know, Shahrukh Khan plays the lead role in Swades and it is to be seen whether Naghma gets to star opposite him. There is no independent confirmation of this information from the makers.

Aishwarya , Salman ´Clash´ averted ?
Hold on , we are not talking about any real life face off between Aishwarya and Salman but to the on screen clash of two of their movies , Kuch Naa Kaho and Tere Naam , which were to release simultaneously on 15th August. It now seems that Kuch Naa Kaho is no longer scheduled for an Independence day release , instead it may release later in August or even September , as of now.Tere Naam will have Footpath and the hollywood flick Hulk for comapany on the above mentioned date.We must add that the release dates can change at any time and for any movie.

Satish Kaushik To Direct Anil In A Black Comedy
Comedian Satish Kaushik is planning to direct a black comedy which Anil Kapoor may produce .Based on the true-life story of one Lal Bihari , an ordinary man from a village in Azamgarh(U.P.).This film will be a sad reflection on the legal system in the country.Lal Bihari has been fighting for 18 years in the courts , only to prove that he is alive . For the govenment records , the man is dead and ironical as it may sound , he has been knocking the doors and roaming in the corridors of the courts , only to establish that he is very much in existance.To drive home his point , Lal Bihari has also contested elections against the late Rajiv Gandhi. But long after the ex-prime minister is dead , Lal Bihari is still struggling to prove that he is alive.Satish Kaushik´s best buddy Anil Kapoor will play Lal Bihari in the film being targetted at the international market as much as at the Indian multiplex market.

First Song Recorded For Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo
Music director Anu Malik , recorded the first song for Movie World´s Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo at Golden Chariot Studio on August 14 . Penned by Sameer , it was rendered by Udit Narayan , Alka Yagnik and Jaspinder Narula .While on the movie Akshay Kumar has rejoined the cast of Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo , after director Anil Sharma conceded to his request for removing certain dialogues and the final cast consists of Amitabh Bachchan , Akshay Kumar , Bobby Deol , Danny Danzongpa , Govind Namdev , Ashutosh Rana and newcomer Kapil Sharma .

Saif & Salman , The Other Actors In Boney´s Film?
apart from Tabu and Anil are to be finalised for producer Boney Kapoor´s next venture , which is to be directed by Anees Bazmi. It seems that director , Anees Bazmi has shortlisted Salman Khan and Saif Ali Khan for the two roles and they may soon be officially signed for the above mentioned movie.

All Is Well Between Sunil Shetty And Akshay ?
Unlike other matinee idols , Akshay Kumar isn´t the one to seek credit for the success his movies .Talking to journalists at occasion of Andaaz completing 100 day´s he said " I would say Andaaz is successful because of Lara Dutta and Priyanka Chopra too " .After being dismissed as a stunt star AK has come into his own as an actor Sangharsh , Jaanwar , Dhadkan , Ek Rishta- The Bond Of Love and now Andaaz , have established Kumar as an actor of substance.On the anvil is a negative role in Satish Rajwade´s Akhand , where he has Sunil Shetty for company and on the personal front , he´s made peace with Shetty " We have a great professional rapport," he said and that´s great news.

Two , Too Much For A Sunny Deol Movie ?
Two ´item´ numbers and that too in a Sunny Deol movie is something which is difficult to beleive , but if the director is also a choreographer it does look possible. Dance director Ahmed Khan , who has turned to direction with Lakeer , has two item numbers in the movie. A.R.Rahman who scores the music has already recorded the songs , one of which has been rendered by Daler Mehndi , and the other by the pop group , Viva. It will be interesting to see how Ahmed makes the heroes of his debut film dance because none of the four lead men are very fond of dancing. Lakeer stars Sunny Deol , Sunil Shetty , John Abraham and Sohail Khan.

Kal Ho Na Ho On 28th November ?
Yash Joher´s Nikhil Advani directed , Kal Ho Na Ho , starring Shahrukh and Saif Ali Khan , may well release on 28th November 2003 , according to our industry sources.It maybe recalled that a section of the media had said that no other movies starring Shahrukh Khan will release in 2003 but it now seems that the makers are keen to release it on the above mentioned date . An official announcement about the release date of Kal Ho Na Ho , is still awaited .Another awaited flick Khakee , may also have a November release . The dubbing of the D.M.S. venture , started last week at Sound City.

Mani Ratnam´s Movie To Have Songs Now ?
Remember we had told you that Mani Ratnam´s Ajay ,Vivek film will have no songs , but there is a change now .The film during the shooting of which Vivek had got hurt , was supposed to be a songless movie but Mani Ratnam has now decided to have songs. A.R. Rahman is providing the music in the film , which will now have a minimum of 5 songs .

Culpable Homicide Charge Against Salman Dropped
The Bombay High Court on Wednesday , dropped a culpable homicide charge against actor Salman Khan who is accused of ramming his car into a group of people sleeping on a Bombay sidewalk, killing one and injuring three.

LOC Release Postponed To Diwali ?
We have heard that J.P. Dutta´s magnum opus , LOC which was scheduled to release on 15th August , has been delayed and will now release around Diwali . It maybe recalled that Dutta´s last movie Refugee , which marked the debut of Abhishek Bachchan and Kareena Kapoor , did not fare well at the box office.

Bipasha And Dino Again
The law of ´hit couples´ hasn´t failed this year with several of them failing to re-create any magic twice. Amisha-Hrithik, Kareena-Tushar and Raaz´ Bipasha-Dino. Even still, Bipasha Basu and Dino Morea were signed for many films after Raaz, of which many will release soon. They will feature in Padmalaya´s Ishq Hai Tumse, which features music by Himesh Reshammiya and lyrics by Sanjay Chhel. One can recall that the film, directed by Krishna, was originally titled Khushboo.

Kareena & Bipasha Back Together For Gulel ?
After Ajnabee , Kareena and Bipasha had decided never to work together , but it seems that they may be back for Pritish Nandy´s much talked about Gulel .Although there has been no official launch , it is reliably learnt that Ajay Devgan , Saif Ali Khan , Bipasha Basu and Kareena Kapoor are a part of the prestigious project.Gulel will apparently be directed by Aparna Sen and her daughter , National award winner Konkana Sen Sharma may also be there , in a special appearance.

The film called "Mumbai se Aaaya Mera Dost" starring Abhishek Bachchan. There was report that Karishma Kapoor will be starring in the movie as the female lead opposite Abhishek Bachchan. But the news has been recently that Lara Dutta will be actually starring in this flick opposite Abhishek. This movie is said to a non-stop comedy.

Abhishek Bachchan´s Problems Continue ?
Abhishek Bachchan was down with a back problem recently . The nagging backache struck him just a couple of days before the release of his Mumbai Se Aaya Mera Dost . Was it simply pre-release tension or was something really wrong with AB´s baby?Frankly, the guy was in pain and the backache even delayed the shooting of the under-production film , RUN , by a couple of days and so the unit of Boney Kapoor´s film waited in Delhi for Abhishek to arrive from Mumbai and on reaching Delhi , he was off for shooting to New Delhi´s historic Rajpath , along with the leading lady Bhumika Chawla , much to the relief of Boney.

Boom postponed again ?
There are speculations about the release plans of Boom . So often have release dates been announced by the film´s producers , and then cancelled that exhibitors are not sure whether they should now beleive the release date to be true .Boom was last scehduled to hit the screens on 22nd August but as in the past , the film has been postponed this time too.The likely date of release now is 5th September . Its definate- as definate as it always has been.

Sonu Nigam In The Film Of Rajat Mukherjee
Rajat Mukherjee has revealed potential plans for his next film. While not confirmed as of yet, the film may be titled "Nepal" and may feature Sonu Nigam. Stay tuned for more information.Interestingly enough, the trailors for Sonu Nigam´s next Kash...Aap Hamare Hote have released and are generating a great deal of curiosity. It is Sonu´s first solo hero film, and he is playing a romancer to Arya Babbar´s sister Juhi.

Anurag Kashyap to script for Goldie Behl
While Goldie Behl is in the limelight, there had been news for a while that Goldie Behl was planning to start another movie after the not so successful "Bas Itna Sa Khwab Hai". Anurag Kashyap is said to have penned the script. Also, it was known that the movie is supposed to star his close friend Abhishek Bachchan in the lead role. With Anurag Kashyap handling the script, lets hope the Abhishek-Goldie combination puts he failue of "Ba Itna Sa Khwab Hai" behind themselves, considering that one of the reasons "Bas Itna Sa Khwab Hai" didnt do quite well can be attributed to the fact that it has a loose script.

Super Cassettes Deny News About Hrithik Movie
Super Cassettes Industries , more famous as T-Series , have clarified that the music company has not joined hands with Sujit Kumar for any film . The audio company has dismissed off the story as "false and baseless" .It was reported in a national daily recently that Super Cassetes and actor-producer Sujit Kumar , would be jointly producing a film starring the hot and happening Hrithik Roshan .

Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan Exempted From Court Appearance
Actors Sanjay Dutt has been exhempted from personal appearance in the court until the 2nd of December. Certain conditions are attached by the special court. The court has instructed Sanjay Dutt not to establish any contact with the absconding criminals (in the bomb blast case) and not to try and influence the witnesses. It may be recalled that Sanjay Dutt had been permitted by the court to go abroad on 28th October for the for the promotion of his movie Kaante. Salman Khan out on bail in the recent accident case has also been exhempted from personal appearance by another court. The matter will be sent to a session´s court on 19th January.

Harsh Chaya Plays Fardeen´s Father In Janasheen
TV actor Harsh Chaya will be playing Fardeen Khan´s father in the yet to be released Janesheen. The news assumes significance because Fardeen´s real life father , actor director Firoz Khan is also there in the movie but is playing a role that has shades of grey.It must be added that Fardeen career depends to a large extent on the box office outcome of Janasheen .

While the debate goes on about who gets more, Sunny Deol or Shahrukh Khan it seems that Amir Khan has created a record of sorts by signing Bobby Bedi´s ´1857 The Rising´ for an unbeleivable sum of Rs. 5 cr. It seems that keeping away from signing any new project for almost two years, has in no way eroded or diminished Amir´s stardom. While Bobby Bedi has neither confirmed or denied the fact that Aamir has signed the film for that amount of money, he has confirmed that the movie will be made in a start to finish schedule of 4 months.

We also came to know that going in for damage control , a stripped down version of the original Amir Khan teaser has been launched in a matter of days by Coca Cola India . This one is a take off on the Amir promo and features school kids trying to imitate him .

Amitabh To Sing With Abida Parveen For Baghbaan?
After proving everything that there is to prove as an actor , Amitabh wants to prove a few more points but this time as a singer . After the success of his recent song with Adnan Sami , we have now heard that music director Adesh Srivastava will soon record a song which will feature megastar Amitabh Bachchan and legendary Pakistani singer Abida Parveen .Due to some problems the song , which was planned some months back , had to be scrapped but now it has got the go ahead signal . After giving Urmila , Antara Mali and Isha Koppikar a different image , there are talks of another launch by the one and only Ram Gopal Verma.Reportedly , the lady in question is Sangeeta Ghosh or Pammi of the popular serial ´Desh Me Nikla Hoga Chand´ . Sources say that Ramu has instructed one of his assistants to sign her for one of his forthcoming project. While on the Ramu camp , we have also heard that Sameera Reddy of Tera Jadoo Chal Gaya , Pyar Ishq Aur Mohabbat and Om Jai Jagdish fame , may do an item number for another RGV venture. For now , we can only wait for the official word on these scoops.

Sanjay Dutt To Team Up With Abhishek Bachchan ?
Just a while ago, we had reported that Rajkumar Santoshi is planning to start another movie with Abhishek Bachchan in the lead role. Even as Mr. Santoshi is completely involved in the filming of his forthcoming Amitabh Bachchan-Ajay Devgan starrer "Khakee", he has been active with the pre-production work for his next venture. The latest on the Abhishek starrer is that Sanjay Dutt has been added to the cast and if reports are to be believed Sanjay Dutt´s character in the movie will be having negative shades. The movie also stars Amitabh Bachchan and is set to start rolling once "Khakee" finishes.

Rajshri´s Next Release ´Uuf Kya Jaadu Mohabbat Hai ´ ?
While the latest Rajshri venture , Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon has released to a response ranging from average to good , there next release this year may well be "Uuf Kya Jaadu Mohabbat Hai " , with newcomers Sameer Dattani and Pooja Kanwal .The movie is directed by Manoj Bhatia and the music is composed by Sandesh Sandilya. It may be recalled that another small budgeted movie , Hum Pyaar Tumhi Se Kar Baithe , was also released under the Rajshri banner , in the recent past.

New Villain For Sunny Deol´s Gandhi ?
Sunny Deol´s home production Gandhi , may have to find a new villain as Mr. Raj Babbar who was playing the part , has decided to opt out of the venture in keeping with his ´political image´. As we all know , Mr. Raj Babbar is an MP and from now on , he will only be playing positive character´s in movies.

Bachchan Versus Bachchan Avoided ?
It was going to be Amitabh versus Abhishek on 22nd August , with Boom and Mumbai Se Aaya Mera Dost , scheduled to release simultaneously but as we told you earlier Boom has now been postponed to 5th September a date on which Abhishek , Aishwarya starrer Kuch Na Kaho was slotted to release .We now have the latest and hope that it is final - Kuch Na Kaho will now release on 19th September and once again , Bachchan versus Bachchan has been avoided .
