About Ranjangaon

The temple is in the range of Pune district. It is 50Kms from Pune. On Pune-Ahmednagar Highway Mahaganapati at Ranjangaon is believed to have come to the aid of Shiva in destroying the citadels of the demon Tripurasura.


About Temple

According to the history the temple was build in between 9th & 10th century. Madhavrao  Peshwa  made a room in the basement of the temple to keep the idol of the lord Ganesh. Later on Sardar Kibe of Indore renovated it. Nagarkhana is situated above the entrance gate. Main temple looks like temple from Peshwa's period. Temple facing east has huge & beautiful entrance gate.

You will be surprised to know that the idol of these lord Ganesh is also named as 'Mahotkat', and it is said that the idol has 10 trunks and 20 hands.

While going from the Pune - Nagar high way the route is Pune - Koregaon - then via Shikrapur Rajangaon is 21 kms before Shirur. From Pune its 50 kms.
