Anna used to help his father in his work. As he starting working to fulfill the household needs he could not complete his education, and had to leave school at class four. Now Anna was engrossed in his work. After he earned some money he himself started taking contracts. This went on for many years. Anna studied the new techniques of construction with the Engineers and made rapid progress in the business. He became the no. 1 contractor in Pune. Pune was fast developing, the worker class was also increasing, and during this period many builders started coming to Anna. With this Anna developed close relationship with political leaders. In 1997 general elections Anna got elected as an independent candidate with a huge margin. After becoming Corporator he did not forget the poor and the poverty. He used Municipal corporation for the development of Society. In order to include everyone in all works, Anna established the Amar Mitra Mandal in his ward. this Mandal undertakes many good programs. The Mandal will very soon enter in its Silver Jubilee year. Every year books and stationary are distributed to the students.

Laying down drainage lines, Electric poles and Lamps, Cement Concrete roads, construction of Public Toilets, Constructed the Ganesh Mandir, Tap water connection. Free Library, Sewing classes, Literacy classes are started for Ladies. Skin Disease camp, Blood Donation camp, Health camp, Eye check up camp, Cancer Check up camps and many such camps have been held in his ward. Programs are held on all the Jayanties and Punya Tithis.

Houses to people, Gymnasium hall, Mini Market are some works which are still in planning. Through the Mandal he organizes Tennis Ball Cricket Matches and Carrum competitions. Anna personally goes bare footed to the Sant Tukaram and Sant Dyaneshwar Palkhi. Food and Fruits are distribute on this occasion. 

Anna has taken part in many agitations which were for the good of the public. He has been felicitated by many organisations for his work for the society, Municipal Corporation has appointed him as the president of the "Galichha Vasti Nirmulan Samiti", president of "Ghole Road Prabhag Samiti", member of "Naav Samiti" and "Mahila Bal Kalyan Samiti".

Anna is the only corporator to be felicitated by the Municipal Commissioner and the Mayor for the development work of ward no. 98. Mayor once said in his speech the one should learn from Anna how to develop a ward. He has also successfully completed the Singapore trip to know how to run the construction business. M.L.A. Chandrakant Chhajed, Balasaheb Shivarkar and M.P. Suresh Kalmadi have honored him for his work in his ward.
